The Ili River Bridge is a major and difficult project of the transit section of the National Highway G218, with a total length of 2360m, which belongs to a single cable surface, double row layout of the short tower extra-large cable-stayed bridge.

 Since the construction of the project started in August 2021, it has attracted the attention of the general public. With an extreme maximum temperature of 42.8 °C and an extreme minimum temperature of -51.0 °C each year, the weather is currently warming up in a good season so as to the builders of the project to produce and construct to ensure that it can be opened to traffic smoothly at the end of the year.

The cable-stayed cables are single-faced, double-row arranged on the central divider, and the whole bridge uses a total of 4×8 pairs of cable-stayed cables.

The longitudinal spacing on the cable-stayed girder is 5m, the spacing of the double-row transverse arrangement is 1.0m, and the vertical spacing on the tower is 1.2m.

The anchoring method of the cable-stayed cable on the tower adopts the anchorage method of steel strand cable-stayed cable on the tower through the bundled steel pipe through (cable saddle).

 The main structure is to use welded bundled wire splitting steel pipes, and each bundle of steel strands and wire splitting steel pipes correspond one by one through the cable tower.

The protective PE of the contact part between the steel strand and the bundle steel pipe does not need to be peeled, and only the steel strand PE in the sleeve of the saddle port is stripped and poured with epoxy mortar resistance block to prevent the slip trend of the steel strand under the action of unbalanced cable force.

The cable-stayed cable is made of epoxy sprayed steel strand, and the diameter of a single steel strand is 15.2mm. The standard strength of the steel strand is fpk=1860MPa, the elastic modulus: E = (1.95 ±0.1) ×105 Mpa, and the performance of the steel strand meets the relevant requirements of the "Filled Epoxy Coated Steel Stranded Cable for Bridges" (JT/T1063-2016).

The cable-stayed anchor adopts a replaceable cable group anchor system, and the cable-stayed cable, anchor, protective cover, anchor backing plate high-strength bolts and ancillary components are supplied.

The performance of the corresponding HDPE cable sleeve, anchor assembly, cable saddle, built-in shock absorber, cable attachment and anti-corrosion material of the cable meets the relevant requirements of the "Filled Epoxy Coated Steel Stranded Cable for Bridges" (JT/T 1063-2016).

The cable-stayed cable is tensioned and anchored on the main beam, wherein an anti-slip anchor block is arranged at the end of the cable saddle on the tower, and the locking of the anti-slip anchoring device should be completed in the bridge-forming stage as far as possible.

However, considering the unbalanced tensile force of the cable-stayed cable in the construction stage, the specific locking stage should be determined according to the anti-slip performance test and construction monitoring calculation results of the cable-stayed cable at the wire slitter pipe on the tower, so as to avoid the possible slippage of the cable-stayed cable in the saddle of the tower due to the difference in cable force.
